My 5-Band Attic Antenna for Ham Radio

Radio amateurs (hams) living on small urban lots or subject to HOA restrictions may find this post from Peter Waters (G3OJV) interesting.

In this video, Peter shows us how to install a 5-band HF antenna in a small attic space.  Although this compromised antenna has limitations, it will get you on the air without your neighbors knowing about it.

Here are some comments from Peter (G3OJV):

For those with smaller gardens, or indeed no gardens, the attic may be one of the best options as a site for an antenna. Whilst it is easy to install a VHF antenna in the attic, it can be even easier to install and HF antenna. Here, Peter G3OJV shows how it is very easy to install a multi-band HF antenna, even in quite a small loft or attic. Your Ham Radio Store https://www.hamradiostore.co.uk

“Invisible” HF vertical ham radio antenna

Radio amateurs living in deed-restricted housing will find this antenna interesting.

In this video, Peter Waters (G3OJV) builds a simple 20 meter band vertical antenna that is nearly “invisible”.  The heart of this HF vertical is a compact helically-wound mobile whip and a few readily available accessories.

The antenna occupies a small footprint and is easy to deploy and take down.

Here are some comments from Peter (G3OJV):

Antenna restrictions are a major problem for many ham radio operators. Hiding the antenna away can have a big effect on radiation efficiency. Here, Peter G3OJV, describes one method that results in a very effective 20m DX antenna that requires no planning permission. It could get you back on the air so that you can join in the fun once again.
